They simplify the process of rigging aerial hammocks while preventing overloading of carabiners. This product is used as a friction hitch for all hammock rigging, offering significant advantages. Friction hitches leave an appropriate amount of material at the master point to be placed into the carabiner. In contrast, traditional silk rigging methods often involve tying silks directly into the carabiner, leading to overloading or off-axis loading. Such practices can create a false sense of security and may subject the carabiner to scrutiny when it fails to perform as designed.
The Sterling® HollowBlock2, a redesigned version of their bestselling friction hitch and autoblock, is now made with a stronger aramid fiber.
The 6.8 mm HollowBlock2 is constructed from 100% Technora® fiber, which enhances abrasion resistance and durability. Its gripping ability stems from its unique hollow-braid design, making it ideal for use as a prusik or Klemheist knot on ropes 7 mm or larger.
Key Benefits:
100% Technora® construction
Significant improvements in durability and performance
Retains the same functionality and grip as the original design
Note: HollowBlocks are sold in sets of two, which is the recommended configuration for aerial arts applications.
The Sterling® HollowBlock was designed by Darren Jeffrey and Sterling Rope Co.® and is proudly made in the USA.

The HMS shape increases the gate opening and provides a large, smooth rope running surface for secure belaying and rappelling. Available in Screwlock and Autolock.
The Falcon AL is a 3-stage, compact pear-shaped carabiner. Crafted from high strength 7075-T6 aluminum, the Falcon is strong and lightweight.
Auto-locking or “self-locking” carabiners have a spring-loaded barrel that closes over the gate when released therefore automatically locking the gate closed. This type of locking carabiner offers a little more security in the system over screwgate carabiners, but all carabiners should be second checked.
The Rock Exotica rockSteel Auto-lock offers an impressive strength to weight ratio, a large gate opening and precise handling characteristics due to CNC machined surfaces. Professionals appreciate the smooth operating three-stage autolocking mechanism and smooth keylock surface that won't snag your rope.

The PETZL Swivel L prevents the rope from twisting when the load is turning. It has excellent performance and reliability due to the maintenance-free sealed ball-bearings. This swivel is larger than the PETZL Swivel S and designed for two-person loads and up to three connectors can be attached at once.
This swivel is engineered to provide smooth, seamless rotations with its sealed ball bearings, enhancing fluidity in aerial performances. Its durable construction ensures safety and reliability, making it an essential tool for aerial artists at all levels. It can accept up to three carabiners on the load side.
Expected restock availability: February 2025
This smaller, compact, low profile swivel is ideal for special uses where a smooth form, minimum size and minimum weight are required.
The PETZL SWIVEL OPEN gated swivel with sealed ball bearings features a wide opening and thus can be attached to a range of products (pulleys, lanyards, ropes, etc.). It reduces the bulk and weight of component systems and solves the twisting and tangling problems of ropes and lanyards. Sealed ball bearings offer excellent performance and reliability.
This swivel is ideal for low-profile rigging and can be connected directly to a sewn eye rope eliminating additional connectors.
The Rock Exotica Shackle Swivel saves valuable headspace by allowing you to connect webbing, eyes or thimbles directly to the swivel without a carabiner. The steel shackle bolt (.375" 9.5mm diameter) will also increase the longevity of the swivel when connected to steel carabiners or other steel components.
Expected restock availability: Mid January 2025
The Nano is one of the lightest load rated swivels available, and features a thrust bearing to provide a compact form factor. The connection eye uses an integrated rubber o-ring that holds the Nano snug in place on most carabiners.
This heavy duty Rock Exotica swivel will outlast aluminum when connected to steel components, and offers additional corrosion resistance when working in marine environments. Available in plated black.
Expected availability: January 2025
The two large 1.3″ (32mm) eyes are ideal for use with webbing, and allows for connection of multiple carabiners while still aligning perfectly with only one connector.
The Vertical Art Dance Angel Aerial™ Rigging Plate is a versatile and innovative piece of aerial hardware, designed specifically to replace traditional rigging plates used for aerial silks.
As the first decorative-style rigging plate engineered exclusively for the aerial arts industry, it offers a unique combination of functionality and aesthetic appeal.
This rigging plate is ideal for solo or duo apparatus setups. Its design allows it to be flipped “upside down,” enabling connections to any of the available points on the plate’s surface. The ergonomically designed wings also serve as convenient handles for added versatility.
Each carabiner Point of Connection (POC) features a heat-resistant rubber ring that reduces vibrations transferred to the carabiner. This ring also secures the connector in place and enforces proper orientation, minimizing the risk of cross-loading when the plate is used as directed. Ergonomically designed, the wings of the Angel allow your hands to fit comfortably, enabling additional dance poses when the plate is used as a minor apparatus
The Aerial Angel Rigging Plate™ is also an excellent choice for connecting two separate pieces of fabric to create a striking multi-color effect or effective teaching/demonstrating tool. It provides a smooth, rounded connection point for fabrics and can also be flipped upside down to utilize the open spaces on the wing tips. You can clip into any space on this plate! In this “upside-down” configuration, the plate functions as a “spreader bar” for silks set up in hammock mode.
While not an essential rigging tool, it is a unique and versatile accessory unlike anything previously available.

Sterling Rope’s innovative F4 is the perfect device for an Aerial Lower Out System (LOS). This system allows for anyone (teachers or students), to safely lower a fully weighted apparatus to the ground.
Currently, studios NOT using a lower out system to protect their students are required to stop the class, pull out a ladder, set the ladder up on some sort of padded surface, (not approved for the ladder by any industry), climb up to the entangled student and attempt to unweight the student from the silks, therefore placing the instructor in a situation where they can both fall to the ground. While a properly installed LOS allows the instructor to maintain the overall class composure while casually walking to the F4 ground anchor station to safely lower the trapped student to the ground.

The JAG SYSTEM haul kit for pickoffs, making a releasable anchor, or tensioning a system, thanks to its 4:1 mechanical advantage and excellent efficiency (sheaves with sealed ball bearings). The collapsed kit is highly compact, allowing it to be used even when the distance to the anchor is very short. The JAG SYSTEM haul kit is quick and easy to deploy: it is ready to use thanks to the flexible cover that prevents any risk of tangling. The haul end is color-coded for instant identification. It is available in three lengths: 1, 2 and 5 meters.
LOW STRETCH AERIAL FABRIC DESTRUCTIVE TEST
We put our Low Stretch Aerial Fabric & Hollowblocks to the test! See the results of this destructive pull test for yourself!
Tech Tip
Aerial fabric will loose it stretch/bounce as it gets used. We recommend inspecting your aerial fabric before each use to look for minor tears/holes etc. Fabric that has signs of tears/holes etc. should be retired immediately. The tears/holes will most likely occur at the tie in point (rigging plate, rescue 8, hollow block prusik), so it is important to inspect your rigging connections as well and also rotate the location of tie in about once a month depending on how often your fabric is used.
Cleaning Your Fabric
Aerial Fabric is machine washable. We suggest machine wash with a mild detergent on delicate cycle and tumble dry on low.
Returns
Aerial Fabric is non-returnable/non-refundable. To ensure you receive the correct color and quantity please call us if you’d like help with placing your order.
***The color shown may differ slightly to the actual color. If you would like a small color swatch give us a call and we will be happy to send a sample to you for a small shipping fee.
