Friends, Vertical Art Dancers…Ohana.

We are shattered by the wildfires that have destroyed Maui and Lahaina. We wanted to share an update with you:

As some of you may know, Vertical Art Dance has a headquarters located in Lahaina where @summerldavies Owner of VAD, is currently living. We have received many messages of concern and want to share that she is safe. She thanks everyone for their concern and wants to encourage those that have the resources to focus on the people of Maui. 

Summer evacuated today, but will be returning Saturday afternoon to bring much needed supplies and continue assisting with rescues. She has spent the past two days volunteering with @sailtrilogy where her friend Captain Travis has been assisting the U.S. Coast Guard with water rescues. The situation is very grim and there are so many people that still need emergency relief and assistance.

HERE IS HOW YOU CAN IMMEDIATELY HELP:

Donate to @maui.rescue.mission and @sailtrilogy | Both of these organizations are providing boots on the ground aid, rescue and delivering of resources for the people of Maui. Roads are impassable and resources on land are very limited. Boats cannot dock at harbors because they do not exist anymore, but they can still swim victims to safety. They have been doing beach loading just north of Black Rock. 

The destruction is unspeakable and unfathomable. Our hearts are broken but the people of Maui are strong. The aloha spirit will help us heal the land and our hearts. If you are able to help, PLEASE donate your resources in any way you feel called to. PLEASE share this information with everyone you know.

Locals can find shelter at these establishments that are miraculously still standing and providing resources and rescue supplies.

WHAT VERTICAL ART DANCE CLIENTS/CUSTOMERS NEED TO KNOW:

  • Phone/internet service is limited, if not, non-existent on the island. Communication will be limited with Summer for the foreseeable future. Please be patient with us as Summer and Vertical Art Dance is focusing major effort on providing emergency relief for Maui.

  • Our online store is OPERATIONAL as we have headquarters in both Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Business will continue as usual for online orders.
